Backend engineer. I build APIs, message pipelines and the infrastructure they run on.

I work on the backend of DoubleTick, a WhatsApp CRM for businesses. Before that, at IIT Jodhpur, I built a cost-aware Kubernetes scheduler, shipped the TechFest platform to 25k+ visitors and placed top 5 of 21 IITs in the Inter-IIT cybersecurity challenge.

  1. Jul 2026 — Present

    Software Development Engineer II · DoubleTick

    Backend engineer on DoubleTick's WhatsApp CRM platform: NestJS and Node.js services on PostgreSQL, Redis and Kafka, running on AWS.

    • Build public API endpoints, including bulk conversation actions with per-conversation permission checks.
    • Work on role-based permissions that span services, and on reconciling WhatsApp message and call costs so reported charges match actual billing.
    • Moved backend services onto Docker with Jenkins CI/CD and Terraform-managed AWS infrastructure, and wrote the team's onboarding handbook for it.

    Built and led MERN projects in IIT Jodhpur's developer club, with secure coding practices baked in.

About

I came to backend engineering through security. At IIT Jodhpur I split my time between the developer club, the GDSC security team and cloud research projects. These days I work on production backend systems at DoubleTick.

I write here about backend systems, infrastructure and security: mostly things I had to figure out the hard way.
